Bell Ringing for Salvation Army
Our Kennewick Kiwanis club has helped the Salvation Army with their kettle bell ringing for a number of years. It is a busy time of the year but it seems the volunteer often receives the gift when they may believe they are giving it.
I volunteered for a bell ringing session this last Saturday and was paired with 3 of our Key Club members from Kennewick High School, during my ringing time.
It was a gift to me! I got the chance to see a number of friends that I had not seen in some time. During this special Christmas season, my faith was strengthened to see how many, kind, generous people we have in our home town. (I am convinced it is this way across our great country. Hint to the media….focus on the positive not the negative!)
My fellow Key Club ringers from Kennewick High were great kids! A young man named Joe who is going to become a chemical engineer and two young ladies (Victoria and Desiree) who had a variety of interests. If you have not spent time with some younger people, do so. Our next generation is talented, energetic, and up to the challenges our country faces.
It is a wonderful time of year and I want to wish everyone a very Merry & Joyous Christmas. We have many things to be grateful for!
